The Art of Stillness: Why Doing Nothing is Deep Self-Care

“There is a stillness in you that no storm can touch.” – LSW

Give Yourself A Break

Pause, love.

Let the world whirl on without you for a moment—you don’t have to keep chasing it.

Stillness isn’t laziness. It’s a sacred choice. A gentle act of resistance. A powerful way to come home to yourself. Stillness is about awareness and gratitude. To say to the world, I don’t have to be what you want me to!

In a society that idolizes hustle, choosing to slow down is a bold return to your essence.

Stillness isn’t just silence—it’s presence.

It’s meeting yourself with no agenda, no performance, no roles to play. It’s giving your nervous system permission to rest, to feel safe, to simply be—without needing to earn your worth. No masks or repeats.

Why We Resist Stillness (But Crave It)

We’re conditioned to measure our worth by how much we do. So when we stop, we feel guilt. I know that used to be me… Are you aware that it might be you too?

Forget the guilt! Your spirit longs for it! The stillness. The rest. The “Girl, we did our best.” She longs for that pause. That appreciation.

Stillness gives your body a chance to breathe, your mind a moment to soften, and your soul space to speak. Stillness tells your heart that we also have our bodies to thank.

✨ Stillness Can Look Like:

• Lying down and breathing with no music, no phone, just presence

• Sitting outside in the sun, watching shadows move

• Placing your hand on your heart and whispering, “I’m here.”

• Letting the silence stretch longer than you’re used to

There is no wrong way.

You don’t have to empty your mind. You just have to be with yourself.

My Recommendation…

Try This: The 2-Minute Stillness Practice

Set a timer.

Sit or lie down.

Breathe.

Notice what you feel—without judgment, without fixing.

Just witness yourself. That’s enough.

Let your thoughts be wild. Notice how some fly by and you don’t think twice.

Notice how some thoughts may linger but then disappear.

Don’t grab. Don’t reach. Just Notice and let it all BE.

Take this final breath with me… 💨💨
