Let me start off strong… You need to book a massage. Like right now! Because I know the majority of you all NEED one. And needed one like 2 years ago! If you sit all day, find a therapist. If you are active all day, find a therapist. If you do anything or nothing at all, find a MASSAGE THERAPIST. Your muscles are in NEED!
Now I’m not telling you to book a deep tissue and go and get bruised. For one, a true deep tissue massage should rarely leave a bruise. And two, not everybody needs a deep tissue. What I am telling you though is that you need to take time out to give your muscles A BREAK!
You use them NONSTOP. Let’s think about it for a second… While you stand muscles are contracting. Your body has to align in a position to keep you stable. Releasing and letting go as you walk. While you sit, some muscles elongate and stay stretched while others are forced in constant motion. Your body is woking without thinking and your mind… Honey, we all know the mind hardly stops. And that is one muscle you NEED to let rest the most.
Massage is an avenue to achieve this rest. It is an avenue of healing the body AND the mind. No, it will not be a one time fix. It will not just take one hour once every six months. Massage is a commitment! It is SELF-CARE! Massage therapy is a tool that one uses on their journey.
Yes, it is indeed a commitment. And yes, it will take time. After all, we are working to rid the body and mind of years of neglect and misuse. Healing and retraining muscles to do the opposite of what you accidently, on purpose, trained them to do. Through massage we are admitting that we are in over use mode and that we want something different. Massage therapy emerges as a sanctuary, offering a dedicated time for self-care and relaxation. It is not a luxury, but a necessity on the road to healing and regaining balance in everyday life.

- Stress shows up everywhere, in various shapes and forms. Amidst all the responsibilities that we juggle daily, stress can become an unwelcome companion. It is a time to look forward to knowing that you will be looked after and it is a time to know you are not going to be stressed. Booking a massage opens the door for healing and release. - When stressed, and when you take on that stress, it shows up in your body. Headaches, muscle aches, cramps, it shows up in ways we may not think about. For example, something loud came through and rang your ears. Your shoulders jolted upwards and your neck tightened. Imagine this happening again and again. Imagine this happens at work daily!
